Privacy Policy
Hartlane Press is a small independent publisher. We keep the personal information we collect to a minimum, and we do not sell it. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you sign up to receive a free resource or our occasional email, we collect your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it. If you write to us, we keep the contents of that message so we can reply. When you browse the site we may collect basic, non-identifying usage information such as the pages visited and the type of device used, through cookies and website analytics.
How we use it
We use your email address to send you the resource you asked for and, from time to time, news about new books and free resources. We use website analytics to understand which pages are helpful so we can improve the site. We do not use your information to build detailed profiles, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
The services we rely on
We use a few trusted companies to run the site and our email. Our email sign-ups and newsletters are handled by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which stores your email address on our behalf. Our website is hosted by Hostinger. If we use website analytics, it is provided by Google Analytics. Each of these companies has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles data on our behalf.
Links to other websites
Our site links to other places, such as Amazon, Gumroad, Pinterest and Instagram. When you follow one of those links you leave our site, and their own privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for the practices of other websites.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing eva@hartlanepress.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Most web browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings if you prefer.
A note about young readers
Although our books are written for teenagers, our email sign-ups and this website are intended for adults, such as the parent, aunt, teacher or older reader making a purchase. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, please email eva@hartlanepress.com and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business grows or the law changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
